Last time to buy a 2004 Yearbook. You can drop off a check at the office or a Yearbook staff member will be going around during homerooms.

Any student – grades 8 – 11 – interested in working on the Yearbook for 2004/2005 should meet May 13th at 11:41 a.m. in the conference room. Bring a pencil.

Reminder to FFA members who will be attending the National FFA Convention next fall: You need to pay your $75.00 down payment immediately.

Reminder to all Boys Basketball Players Grades 8-11: your CHS camp money is due by Friday, May 14th or you will not be allowed to participate.

Reminder to all Boys Basketball Players Grades 10-11: your Wayne State team camp money is due by Friday, May 14th or you will not be allowed to participate.

The Crofton boys were the Knox Country Champs with 121 points.

Scot Donner was 1st in the pole vault at 10’7” (meet record), 100m dash – 12.60, 200 m dash – 24.7 (NJHSR); Ryan Mueller was 1st in the 400m dash – 60.8 & 2nd in the 100m dash – 12.9; Seth Erdmann 2nd in the 1200m run – 4.08.1 and pole vault – 7’; Kyle Mueller 2nd in the high jump – 5’2”; Ben List 2nd in the shot – 39’6”; and Ben List, Seth Erdmann, Kyle Mueller, and Sean Zimmerman 2nd in the 4x100 relay – 54.0.

Crofton girls finished 2nd at the NENAC Track Meet Friday and the boys finished 4th.

Natalie Stout placed 1st in the 400m – 59.70 (NSR), 800 – 2:25.80, triple jump – 35’8 1/2”; Lexi Arens – 1st in the 1600m and 2nd in the 3200m; Samantha Kube – 2nd in the triple jump; Laura Wortmann 1st in the discus and shot, girls’ 4x400 – 1st; Brady Foxhoven placed 1st in the 1600m; Mike Nohr – 2nd in the 1600m; Tyler Schiferl – 2nd in the pole vault, and the boys’ 4x400 – 1st.

JH Track Results:

The NENAC Track Meet will be held Friday, May 7th in Creighton – starting time is 3:30 p.m. Dismiss the team members at
1:35 p.m.

JH students will be attending an assembly at the Elementary School on Friday – bus leaves at 1:45 p.m.

SATURDAY, MAY 8TH:

There will be a JH Track Meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8th in Yankton.

Dance Team tryouts will be held Saturday, May 8th at 8 a.m. in the commons.

MONDAY, May 17th:

Track & Field B-B-Q/Awards night will be Monday, May 17th at 6:30 p.m. in the commons.

STAFF:

All staff members are invited to the Foods class “Spring Fling” which will be held Wednesday, May 5th at 3:50 p.m. in the commons.

Spring Music Concerts Posted on Monday, May 3
The Elementary Concert will take place on Tuesday, May 4th at 7:30 p.m. It will feature the K-6 vocal program plus the 5-6 band.

The High School's Fine Arts Night will be held on Tuesday, May 11th. Doors will open at 7:00 for viewing of the projects by many of the classes, including art, quilting, shop, etc. The 7-12th grade vocal and instrumental performance will begin at 7:30. Music awards will be given out during the program.

The public is invited and there is no admission charge.

A camera was found during Prom clean up. Identify and claim from Mr. Bossman.

Attention all football players – there are still 10 plaques that need to be picked up yet. Anyone who ordered one must slop by and pay. If you did not order one but want a plaque, bring your money – first come, first served.

There will be a boys’ basketball meeting Tuesday during 1st homeroom in the gym.

Randolph Track Invitational will be held Tuesday at 2: 30 p.m. Dismiss the team members at 12:35 p.m.

Boys’ Golf Team will compete in Laurel Tuesday at 4 p.m. Dismiss the team members at 2:30 p.m.

Elementary Music Concert will be Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

All students interested in participating in Cross Country during the 2004/2005 school year: There will be a meeting for the girls at 11:41 a.m. Tuesday in the conference room and a meeting for the boys at 11:41 a.m. Wednesday in the conference room.

WEDNESDAY:

The 8th grade will be taking a field trip Wednesday, May 5th from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

THURSDAY:

Any girls interested in girls’ golf this fall, there will be a meeting at 12:00 noon Thursday in room 159.

JH CONFERENCE TRACK:

Crofton boys placed 2nd in the Conference Track meet.

There were 3 new school records: Scot Donner – 200 – 24.8, Ryan Mueller – 400 – 57.7, and Kyle Mueller – 1600 H – 22.10.

First place: Scot Donner – 100 – 12.4 and pole vault – 9’6” and Ryan Mueller – long jump – 17’ 6 ¼”.
